A colleague in New Jersey called me on the 1-800 this morning, asking for a favor. Could I upload a higher res photo of one of my Arcade1up Motherboards so he could read the chip? The one his customer brought in burnt up so he can’t read it.
UPDATE: a caller emailed me with a few more useful datasheets. He told me his burn marks look exactly like mine in the picture & have to do with the temperature control circuit on the high voltage (~26VDC) segment of the IC. The chip is only specced for 26 celcius – awfully low for an unventilated unit
These tables are so much fun, but they brick themselves after 6 to 12 months. When you search your issue up online you find a lot of people with the same problem!
You can buy a new one for $1500 or if you’re still in their short warranty period, Arcade1Up will send you a replacement for 600$ plus shipping. But we can do better! Let’s try fixing the one you have first.
Here’s some links to other people with the problem, to show how common the failure is.
Update 2: A youtuber did our fix and made a great video about it. It brought his table back to life instantly!
Here’s our original article, showing how we fixed our first one.
Arcade1up Infinity Table Disassembly
The case is attached with ~20 screws of 3 different types. Don’t mix them up!
Our customer gave us a good hint to follow. Internet users noted power issues, maybe resolved by replacing the 12V power adapter.
Infinity Tables also develop screen backlight issues. Those are more complex to repair and involve replacing components like diodes or resistors.
We tested the power supply voltage & compared to a new one. Arcade1up’s 6-month old power supply tested much lower!
At 12.18v DCvs a new one at 12.35v DC, we still consider this power supply “good”.
So why do they fail?
Arcade1up did something weird with the PCB. They included a little 5 ohm resistor near the start of the circuit that cuts the power down below 12v. So even though the supply might test fine, that resistor makes it so there’s not enough power for the rest of the board.

Arcade1up PCB Power Reroute Fix
We don’t recommend attempting this repair yourself unless you have the tooling and experience to surface mount solder!
If you’re already a competent arcade pilot already, you’ll easily identify the repair from the above pictures.
It’s got sound, its got vibration, it’s got display, and since I reattached that wifi cable, its even still got internet!
A few rounds of cut-the-rope and a 24-hour run test later, it’s ready to go back home!
Got a different problem with a different machine? We can (and do) fix anything! Just fill out this form and one of our techs will follow up ASAP. For infinity table repair, please see this page.

For classic sports games enthusiasts, few titles match the legendary NHL 94. To this day, many sports gamers insist NHL 94 is still the best damn hockey game ever made.
We designed this cabinet to resonate with NHL 94 fans intent or recapturing mid-90s arcade magic. Our design features logos and sprites from the original, that signature blue ice color on the sides, and a kick panel packed with NHL 94 media buzz.
We carefully considered every detail in this arcade machine’s creation. From the control panel with its classic buttons and joysticks, to the vibrant backlit marquee emblazoned with the game’s title. We even take the painstaking step to source hard-to-find classic 3:4 screens for each one of our cabinets.
After weeks of meticulous work, we completed and shipped this special creation to a customer in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, who shares our passion for retro gaming and hockey. The cabinet now proudly sits in their home, serving as a reminder of a simpler time when all you needed for a great time was a few quarters and a love for the game.
